Kingdom of Hungary was established in 1000 by Stephen. In the time of Roman empire, the western region was known as Pannonia. After the collapse of the western empire under stress of the migration of tribes, the more invaders came to Europe. Among the first who arrived were Huns.After their decline, the Lombards came and ruled for over 100 years.Initially, Hungarian history and politics developed close association with that of Poland. It was driven by the interventions of various Popes and Emperors.Hungary was the first modern nation to pass anti-semitic laws. In 1920, these laws were more specifically followed. Some massacres of Jews by Hungarian forces took place in the early part of the Second World War.More than one half of Hungary’s landscape consists of flat to rolling plains of the Carpathian basin. It also contains the highest mountains of the country. The second largest lake in this basin is Lake Tisza.

HungaryHungary is divided in two parts by its main waterway.The climate of Hungary is cold, cloudy and humid in winters. However, there are summers which are generally warm. Temperature extremes are about 42 degree Celsius in the summer and -29 degree in the winters. The average yearly rainfall is approximately 600 mm. A small, southern region of the country near Pecs enjoys very good climate. It has bit warmer climate than the rest of the country. In winters, it has snow. 95% of the population is mostly of Hungarian origin. Their mother tongue is Hungarian. It is a Finno-Ugric language unrelated to any neighboring language. There are many minorities also which are basically Germans, Romanians, Slovaks, Croats and Ukrainians.However, Hungarians can be found in the surrounding countries due to historical reasons.

The president of Hungary is elected by the parliament for the term of five years. There is large ceremonial role in choosing the dates of the parliamentary elections. The Prime Minister selects cabinet ministers. He has exclusive rights to dismiss them. Each cabinet appears before one or more parliamentary committees in consultative open hearings and must be formally approved by the president.Hungary is subdivided administratively into 19 counties, but since the admission to the European Union, Hungary has been subdivided into euro regions. Hungary continues to demonstrate growth in the economic sector. It is one of the newest member of the European union. The private sector accounts for over 80% of GDP. It gets one third of all investments flowing into Central Europe. The ownership and investment of firms is widespread.

Hungary is the only other country in the EU apart from Poland not to enjoy an A grade score.There has been increase in inflation and unemployment in the past few years and they are expected to rise further.Foreign investors' focus being mainly on increasing the income side rather than curbing government spendings. Economic reform measures such as health facilites, tax laws and local government financing are being addressed by the present government. Lot has been done to make further improvement.
